Delft Infra Composites

Beginning 2011 Takke Breukelen B.V. and Lightweight Structures B.V. started a co-operation  under the name Infra Composites B.V. In this new company the expertise of Takke Breukelen B.V. (design, production and sales of special steel structures) and Lightweight Structures B.V. (design, production and sales of composite load-bearing structures) in the  civil market are merged. Takke Breukelen B.V. has an extensive network in the infra market (ministries, municipalities, constructors, engeneering companies) while Lightweight Structures B.V. contributes its international contacts (Russia, England, Japan).

Infra Composites B.V. (trade name Delft Infra Composites) focuses under its brand name ECOSAFE on design & construct projects of composite bridges and bridge decks and hybrid bridges. However, Infra Composites B.V. also designs and builds composite bridge parts (decorative edge profiles) and lock gates. 
Engineering of these structures is mainly carried out in Delft, production in Breukelen, the Netherlands.

Takke Breukelen

Eight generations of the Takke family have been active in construction. Since 1921 Takke is located in Breukelen, specialising in construction in the infrastructure, both light structures (parapets, hand rails) and heavy structures (bridges, buildings).

Lightweight Structures

Lightweight Structures B.V. was founded in 2005 as a spin-off of the Netherlands contract research organisation TNO. The core group of Lightweight Structures have co-operated since 1996, having started as a co-operation of Delft University of Technology and TNO. It focussed on creative product development, engineering and manufacturing of lightweight structures in a wide range of markets, mostly using composites. After a management buy-out in 2007 the company aims at composite design & construct projects. Composite structures are exclusively built with vacuum infusion, core competence of Lightweight Structures B.V.
